High Dynamic Range (HDR)

High Dynamic Range.

I've been looking to find something to photograph beside bands. I have found it difficult to schedule amateur models but will still keep trying to improve my portrait photography. Stumbled on the idea of HRD photography the other day.The advantage is that one can avoid over and under exposure by using over and under exposure to create the imagine. One is able to lighten the darker parts of the image and darken the lighter parts, creating an image that more closely matches the image received by the eye. It offers a great range It is delightful simple.

One must use a tripod because one needs to shoot the exact (or very nearly) the same shot multiple time. Choose your focal length, ISO, and aperture. Then by manipulating the shutter speed to over and under expose multiple images.. The minimum number of shots to use is three, but better results will result from 5. In Photoshop go to File>Automate>Merge to HDR Pro... Choose the images to be used and you're off. There will be multiple setting available when the imagine is first rendered.

I have a lot to learn and I'll be sharing my knowledge and photos here.
